The PlayStation Network (PSN) is the online service console. It can play online and access the PlayStation Store and shop at various communication services, information and entertainment. Access to the PSN is free.

The PlayStation Store is an online store that offers content for download, free and paid. The service offers original games, and arcade classics PSone, extra content for games, playable demos, trailers for games or movies come in Blu-ray or film, making of, funds screens and themes for the XMB, the webzine Qore, soundtracks to games, applications, etc.. The contents of the shop varies by country. To purchase the content, the user must supply his PSN account with a bank card or a prepaid card (available in Europe since November). Parental control can be exercised over the account to spending limits and restrict access to certain content. Prices are shown in real money.
